4th International Orthopaedic Conference 2009
"You break it - We fix it"
Stamford Grand Hotel, Glenelg | Adelaide | South Australia | 21 - 23 October, 2009

ADELAIDE, SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Adelaide also offers the world’s best food and wine in arguably Australia’s most liveable city. Located between sheltered gulf waters and a range of low hills, Adelaide stretches some 65 kilometres from its southern suburbs to its northern most outposts. Adelaide enjoys a Mediterranean climate, a relaxed lifestyle and a range of restaurants offering cuisine from almost every country. Some of Australia’s premier wine regions are only an hour away.

Glenelg is Adelaide's most popular beach resort. There is plenty of accommodation to choose from including apartments, hostels, hotels and motel accommodation, and a number of historic places of interest to visit. Glenelg is easily accessed from the centre of Adelaide, being only 20 minutes drive away. Along with local buses, a regular tram service leaves from Victoria Square and takes you right to Glenelg beach.

In this busy town you can relax on the beach, shop in the fashionable clothes and surf stores, and eat at one of the restaurants or cafes either in the town itself, or at the Holdfast Shores Complex. Glenelg also offers loads of activities. The main street is Jetty Road, where you'll find a large majority of the shops and eating places, along with the side street delights. At the end of Jetty Road is Moseley Square, which marks the end of the tram line and the beginning of the beach.

SIGHTSEEING
For Interstate and Overseas participants with time to spare before or after the conference or those travelling with Partners, we recommend visits to some of the local attractions such as the Adelaide Central Markets, Jetty Road at Glenelg, Warrawong or Cleland Wildlife Sanctuaries and Mt Lofty Lookout. Worthwhile trips further away from Adelaide include Kangaroo Island as well as the Wilpena Pound and Arkaroola areas within the famous Flinders Ranges. There is also some famous wine producing regions within South Australia including the Barossa & Clare Valleys to the north of Adelaide and the McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek, Coonawarra and Limestone Coast to the south.
