North Terrace walk & pub crawl. Geology of North
Terrace
Many of the public and commercial buildings along North Terrace are
constructed from a range of local, Australian and overseas dimension
stones. A late afternoon walk along the terrace provides the chance
to discuss a little geology, visit a couple of hotels and chat with
friends and new acquaintances. Join a couple of local geoscientists
for a self-funded walk with a difference.
Those interested should
assemble at the Registration Desk at 5.45pm. |

For Interstate and Overseas participants
with time to spare before or after the conference or those travelling
with Partners, we recommend visits to some of
the local attractions such as the Adelaide Central Markets, Jetty
Road at Glenelg, Warrawong or Cleland Wildlife Sanctuaries and
Mt Lofty Lookout. Worthwhile trips further away from Adelaide include
Kangaroo Island as well as the Wilpena Pound and Arkaroola areas
within the famous Flinders Ranges. There is also some famous wine
producing regions within South Australia including the Barossa & Clare
Valleys to the north of Adelaide and the McLaren Vale, Langhorne
Creek, Coonawarra and Limestone Coast to the south. Refer to the
following websites for more information on guided trips and tours:
